ELECFREAKS Octopus Analog UV Sensor (GUVA-S12SD)
Elecfreaks Octopus Analog UV Sensor (GUVA-S12SD) is a UV module from Elecfreaks’ Octopus series, which detects the intensity of UV radiation from the sun and converts it into a linear analog signal. It is adapted for easy and convenient connection to the Micro:bit and Octopus:bit platforms, thanks to a standard design that includes mounting holes and dedicated Pi connections.
Main features
Simple and reliable measurement mechanism
The module measures the total UV radiation intensity (UV index), using an analog signal output that is easily compatible with MakeCode.
Normalization and control
Operates at a working voltage of DC 3–5.5V. This working voltage is well compatible with Microbit or similar platforms.
Technical parameters
Scale of ±1 UV point (Test Precision)
Wavelength spectrum: 200nm–370nm
Response time: less than 0.5 seconds
Dimensions: 38.9 × 23.5 mm
Net weight: about 5 grams
Quick installation in the software
The UV intensity can be read via Analog readout (e.g. P1 in MakeCode) and displayed directly on the Micro:bit screen
